Serious Lab Work

Wednesday, 28 April 2010

Today, I had a long hectic day in the lab. Something kept me occupied till very late in the afternoon. My job was to fill in very small wells with the correct amount of solutions. It was pretty challenging because the volumes of solutions was very small. I have to be very extra careful and ensure that the correct solutions and amount was used for each well. It was hard work, but in the end it was worth doing. Oh yeah, today was just a practice session. Tommorow, I'll then be working with my real samples for my project. Hope I can get good results out of it.

Routine Exercise

Tuesday, 27 April 2010

Dad is really fully utilizing his new pair of shoes. Almost every afternoon now, he will go to the gym near at our apartment for a quick jog or cycling. Below is a photo of him trying out the cycling machine.

Paper Planes in the Park

Monday, 26 April 2010

The other day when dad was busy playing takraw and football with our neighbour, I was busy helping Akim making some paper planes with his new friend Shawn. I managed to take photos of them in action. Akim seemed to be very good with making his own planes, even without having to look at the manual. I'm glad to see in the picture that he is making full use of Hubby's gift for him, freezebee.

Happy Birthday Sister Miah

Monday, 26 April 2010

My big sister Miah is celebrating her birthday today. Hubby, dad, mum and myself would like to wish her happy birhday & may her wishes come true. She invited Hubby over at Lambak for some meehon noodle and grilled chicken wing. We demand a big treat when we get back in July. Sister Sija bought this surprise cake for her. I wished i were there singing the birthday song along....

Today's Shopping List

Today we went out for a quick shopping at Westfield, Garden City. But our first stop was Rebel Sports center. Dad got himself new sports shoes and as for me I bought 2 nose clips for swimming. At Westfield, got myself a 7 port USB hub for $19 at Harvey Norman.

Limau Kesturi & Tomato

A couple of weeks ago dad and hubby planted some vegetables. Today I took some photos of it and it has grown pretty well. Check out the photos below.

Takraw & Footie

Sunday, 25 April 2010

Dad really likes takraw. He used to play professionally for Brunei national team and had won a lot of awards for it. You'll see the trophies that he won at our house in Lambak. Today, he joined playing takraw with a couple of Bruneians in the park. There was one problem, he didnt have sport shoes, so he tried to borrow mine but it was too small for his feet. He then used hubby's sport shoes that he left here, didnt fit that well, but good to play just for fun. Thanks Hubby. Dad will get his own shoes tommorow. Hehe. I'm sure if Hubby was around, he would play with them too. As for me, i helped Akim (Ka Yati's son; he can be seen running on the last photo) to make different kinds of paper planes and tried which one fly the best (unfortunately no photos for this because my camera's battery ran out)

Watching Football in HD

Saturday, 24 April 2010

Tonight was a big match between Manchester and Tottenham. Manchester won with final score of 3:1. Congratulations to all Manchester fans :). First half was rather relaxing for both teams. The second half was getting more interesting!

What makes it more interesting is watching it in HD. I guess i didn't mention that we had subscribed for HD channels on Foxtel (fyi, Foxtail is the Oz's version of Astro). It is fantastic!!! You could see all the details!! Speaking of Foxtel, it kind of reminds me of Hubby, he likes to watch wrestling in HD when he was here. Hehe. Anyway, World Cup Football is coming up very soon. I'm looking forward to watch that in HD channel.

Bubuk Hide & Seek

Saturday, 24 April 2010

I was talking with Hubby on the phone quite a lot today. On average, we talk about 3 hrs every day. I'm glad he got alot of things done today like renew my car road tax, book ticket for his trip here (yeay!), spent 2 hrs at Fitness JPMC etc. I wish I could accompany him doing all those things.

Hubby told me something funny about Bubuk today. Bubuk went missing sometime around mid-day and was nowhere to be found anywhere in the house. There was no sign of him until it was late about half past seven when Hubby started to get really worried. He looked everywhere. Guess where he was? He was on our bed in our master bedroom. We always had our door locked so that Bubuk wouldn't enter. But there he was sleeping on our bed when Hubby found him. Below is the photo of him caught red-handed pampering him self on our silky swade duvey cover. Hehe. Bad boy!!

Begedil

Friday, 23 April 2010

One of our lovely neighbours invited us for house-warming Doa Selamat at her house. Mum decided to make some begedil for "sedekah". Mum said the potatoes here were much better tasting for making begedil. I'm luvin' it!

QIMR, Queensland University

Friday, 23 April 2010

I have been wanting to take a picture in front of QIMR, which stands for Queensland Institute of Medical Research. This is where i spend most of my weekdays, working. I'm quite impressed with the facilities that they have, much better that what we have at Institute of Medicine, UBD. I have many ideas on how to improve our facilities at IM when i'm back in Brunei.

Home Sweet Home, Brunei

Thursday, 22 April 2010

I have a good news to share with all, Alhamdulillah, my staff house retention application in Brunei had been approved by UBD housing & JPA, which means Hubby can stay at that house for the whole period of my study in Aussie. I feel so lucky and thankful for this because this request was granted under a special case. Here i would like to share with all on something with which Hubby is really passionate about, outdoor landscaping.

Hubby's interest towards beautifying home is not only limited to outdoor but also indoor. Take a look for your self. Artificial indoor plants can be seen literally everywhere!! I miss home!!
