Her 1st Year Birthday Celebration

Shopping at Garden City

Thursday, 15 April 2010

Thursday is a good shopping day because shops are closed at 9pm outside Brisbane Town. Straight after my class today, hubby and i wanted to show mum and dad where to get Halal meat so we went to Halal Butchery shop at Palmadale Shopping Complex. Mum was relieved that she finally found some curry powder. We bought 10 kgs of chicken wings, 1 kg of minced beef and 3 kgs of lamb chops. Hubby suggested that we had a BBQ tonight so we also bought 2 whole marinated chicken (peri-peri and satay sauce). Mum and dad were really surprised of how cheap and fresh halal meats can be found here. One whole lamb (say 20kg)  here cost about AUD 140, that is like half the cost of it back in Brunei. Insyallah, we will have our Akikah here for our baby next year!

Whilst we were at the Garden City, i had a huge craving for Indonesian Tucker's foods, and yes we dropped by for some nasi with beef rendang and mee goreng.

We then continued shopping at Westfield and again daddy managed to slip in his favourite item in our shopping basket, i guess you already know what i'm talking about, a big bag of pot-mix soil. That will keep him buzy for sometime. Oh my god!! I cannot believe looking at the photo below that i was still wearing my student card around my neck!!

Here i was in a book store trying to look for this one book through the information desktop entitled "BP Texas - Failure to Learn" by Andrew Hopkins. It is a good book and apparently now very hot in Shell. My in-law asked us to look for it, apparently it cannot be found on shelf in Brunei yet. Unfortunately that book was not available in any of the bookstores in Westfield. We will keep looking for it.

We finally reached home!!! Hubby as usual managed to take a snapshot of our shopping items. Lots and lots of Kaola for his officemates :)
