Day 2 Eid: First Open House

Saturday, 11 September 2010

On the morning of second day of Raya, the plan was to visit the Urban Village Saturday market, so we took about an-hour stroll around the market. We took this opportunity to buy some fruits and vegetables in preparation for the Hari Raya open house, which we will be organizing on coming Wednesday evening. Sis Miah, Sis Cja & her Hubby really enjoyed the market so much.

Happening at the same time was an Eid Fitr celebration organised by the Saudi Residents of Kelvin Grove at the Kulgun Park, just next to our apartment. It was a very fun event, flocks of people came to the event to have a taste of their culture, frendliness and foods for FREE!

Then we went to visit little Princess for a little cuddle and cares. Look at how adorable she has become. Hubby and i just can't have enough of her. How very much we would like to smuggle her into our bag and bring her home! Ha Ha Ha..

Then we went off for a light brunch at IKEA in Logan, about 30 minutes drive from home. We didn't want to eat much because we didn't want to spoilt our meal at the Hari Raya invitation at Ka Yati & Hussain's house. We only shared fish and fillets. After then the shopping time at IKEA begins!!

Yeay! Finally, we felt the Hari Raya ambience in Brisbane when Ka Yati had an open house. Hubby brought some Hari Raya clothes for such event like this. This is our first Hari Raya invitation in Brisabane! Yeay! Thanks Ka Yati for such a lovely set-up and foods! I really love the foods and cakes!! Yummy!!

I missed little Princess so we went to visit her. She is putting on her own first clothes. I'm really excited that she is finally wearing something on!! Ha Ha Ha.. Knowing how excited her Mommy is, she gave me a little grin!

Sis Sija & her Hubby are big fans of bowling game! After about a 2 hrs visit with little Princess Rania, we went to Hyperbowl, the bowling arena at Chermside. I like to play bowling too but not as much as them. They love bowling so much that they bought their own sets of bowling shoes and balls!!

Here are the scores. Despite the fact that i was not winning, i was still so proud of my self, from bottom in the rank in the first game to top in the second game! Overall, i came in at 4th place, whereas brother-in-law Alwis (Iring Laki) emerged as the champion. I was just one point behind Sis Sija (Iring Bini), i could easily have beaten her. Ha Ha Ha...

We then wrapped the day up by going to "Timezone", a game arcade which is just next to the bowling arena. Each one of us tried our strength on "King of the Hammer" game where Hubby beat the previously highest score! It was good fun!!
