Her 1st Year Birthday Celebration

Roller Coster Ride..

Thursday, 5 August 2010

It has been a roller-coaster ride mentally and emotionally for hubby and myself watching tiny little Rania going through some hard times. But Rania has been a STAR!! She is starting to gain weight, her skin complextion is getting fairer, her beauty is starting to show. Mummy and Daddy are so proud of you Princess!!

Rania had quite a rough time last weekend. Her breast milk feed was discontinued for a while, maybe a week, because her tummy was slightly distended. The Dr decided to put her gut at rest and put her back on drips to help her gain weight while letting her tummy to recover. Since then, Alhamdulillah, her condition was improving. Her tummy is getting better. Even her oxygen saturation was improving a lot too. Amazingly since then until now, she has been on air oxygen, which means she doesn't require extra oxygen from the ventilation other than that already in the air.

Another amazing story happened last nigtht, when we visited Princess Rania. Neroli, the baby nurse who was caring for her told us that being an active and brave little girl, Princess Rania is, she had pulled her own breathing tube. Clever Princess Rania decided to be put on CPAP, which was not due for another few more days. The Dr and baby nurses made use this opportunity based on Rania's outstanding condition, decided to completely removing her ventilation tube ahead of schedule and replacing them with a milder CPAP ventilation (NIPPV). We were shocked to hear about the news!! But happy at the same time because she is already on CPAP now. Alhamdulillah, hope she is taking this very well an never having to go back to High Frequency Ventilation again.. Amin!

We are deeply, crazily and immensely in love with Princess Rania!!!
